Meet Alexis
“I know how it feels to have no family.”
— Alexis, Birth Mom
“God promises to be with us in our pain. That’s what we want to do as we walk with these moms. We just want to be with them.”
“They will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”
— Matthew 1:23
Being with a strong family changes everything for a child.
Give now to stand with families from hard places.
The Crisis
In Saskatchewan, more children than ever are entering government care, separated from their families.
Too many are then sent to live in group homes or institutional settings, where a lack of belonging leaves them vulnerable.
Incredible families are stepping up to welcome these children in crisis—foster parents, kinship homes raising relatives, and birth parents working to reunify.
But they carry enormous weight, often with little support.
Our Response
When families show up for children from hard places, those families need us to show up for them.
Sons & Daughters strengthens foster, kinship, and reunified birth families by mobilizing local volunteers and churches to surround them with practical, emotional, and spiritual support.
In practice, this looks like:
Caregiver Support & Relief: meals, groceries, transportation, respite care, and crisis help.
Caregiver Events & Family Celebrations: connection nights, retreats, and gatherings that reduce isolation and build resilience.
Advocacy & Crisis Response: helping caregivers access government and community supports and ensuring timely access to therapy or counselling when it’s needed most.
Church & Volunteer Training: equipping congregations and volunteers with the understanding and skills to walk alongside families wisely and safely.
Christmas Invitation
This Christmas, as we celebrate the God who came to be with us, stand alongside a caregiver so kids from hard places can thrive in families.
Sons & Daughters now operates through a new Saskatoon-focused nonprofit dedicated solely to strengthening families and mobilizing the church here at home.
Tax-receipted donations available.
